Silicon Carbide Components for Magnetic‑Drive Pumps

Silicon carbide (SiC) shaft sleeves, bearings and thrust discs are critical friction‑pair parts for magnetic‑drive pumps, available in Pressure‑less Sintered SiC (SSiC) and Reaction‑bonded SiC (RBSiC).

 Advantages

1. Excellent Wear Resistance: Mohs hardness 9‑9.5, low friction coefficient. Resists scuffing and grooving with fine particles in medium, ideal for 24‑hour continuous operation to extend pump service life.

2. Superior Corrosion Resistance: Compatible with most acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents. SSiC is free of free silicon for hot strong‑alkali service. RBSiC is cost‑effective, NOT suitable for hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated strong alkali.

3. Good Thermal Stability: Low thermal expansion coefficient reduces seizure risk. High thermal conductivity dissipates frictional heat efficiently. Working temperature: ‑80～200 °C.

4. Stable & Clean Operation: High‑finish SiC‑SiC mating pair lubricated by process‑fluid liquid film, low vibration and low noise. Very few wear debris to avoid medium contamination, suitable for fine‑chemical and pharmaceutical applications.

 Notes

Brittle material, chipping or cracking may occur under hard‑particle impact. Dry‑running is strictly forbidden, liquid lubrication & cooling is mandatory. Suction‑side filter is recommended for media with large solid impurities.

 Applications: Chemical magnetic‑drive pumps, fluorine‑lined magnetic‑drive pumps; aggressive corrosive media with fine particles, long‑time continuous duty.
